Aren't we meant to be ruled by decree?

             .
The bullets took over the Nigerian government in 1966, with full attempt to mend wanton souls. Never did we give in to their governing powers. However, with defiant we objected with plaintive cries, having been ordered to follow discipline and obedience with higher commands. We were no choosers of our own, but little did we know that they were being cruel to be kind.
Beyond our realisations, values flowed, formal education made a way, then development and discipline. Judas became just, sinners turned saint Pilate became Paul, turbulent places transformed.
But we become great fools to be grateful when bananas ripe and almost mounted our sacrosanct throne in 1999.
Priorities were misplaced, grandiose plans were made, so that they turned otherwise and an irony of what was meant was seen. Thus corruption creeped in, nepotism followed, and then the abuse of power coupled with embezzlement of funds, tribalism, unemployment and poverty.
In return, snakes swallow currencies, little wonder how bowlegged monkeys with bent backs get away with bag of billions. We indeed prayerfully hope not to watch potbellied pigs fly away with our pride.
Now are we left with such thoughtful question; "aren't we meant to be ruled by decree?". By Anselm.
