He is just a mere clever devil

       Man, in all his wit,
       has written off redemption.
       "For he", said his Lord
"has for the sake of earthly mansion
       abandoned forthwith
       the fount of purification.

       Though with all magnificent
       knowledge even from the formal,
yet without a moment for my
       message that whispers within,
       to give a trial".

Now has man been tried and found
defiled. The right had he traded for
the wrong and thus: delights in the
       devil's hymns and songs, he
       wallows in transgressions, deep
down the guts of all evil.

       For this has brought to
       man's realisation that education
       without religion, makes him a
       mere clever devil.
        Anselm.
